In 1999, Barbara joined the Canadian Tourism Commission. The lure of finding and telling a good story by connecting people and places to the media overcame her in 2007 and has never left her ever since.

In the meantime her journalistic training and ability to develop feature stories with the national, local and syndicated media has placed clients on front pages and on the nation's top TV and radio stations. Her marketing driven and integrated communication programs have helped create unprecedented media alliances as well as increased brand awareness.

Awards: President′s Award of the Canadian Tourism Commission (global employee of the year) in 2003, President?s Team Award in 2006, leadership succession program in 2009. Award for the best long distance NTO in Germany by Touristik PR in 2011.

Barbara opened the Destination Office in 2011 and is working in co-operation with the KHL Tourism and Lifestyle Consulting and TravelMarketing Romberg.

Languages: German, English, basic French, Spanish and Dutch.

Barbara enjoys the great outdoors on rollerblades, skies and her bike. She can never say no to a good conversation over a glass of wine in front of a fire basket. Career highlights: One of her favourite moments was the PR work for the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver.
